Modernise Marseille’s public hospitals.
This project is above all part of plans to upgrade AP-HM’s property portfolio. It delivers upon the client’s desire to streamline space in order to deploy high performance equipment and homogenise analytical resources on a large modern technical platform The project must also allow the client to optimise the quality of the results of biological tests, all at controlled cost.
This unit, whose purpose is to centralise the biology laboratories of Hôpitaux de Marseille on a single site, will enable AP-HM to have its own innovative technical workspace dedicated to biological research, while creating a human dynamic around a project that will streamline its activities.
This is a project for the major renovation of a hospital building dating back to 1973, which has undergone major transformations at various times but whose characteristics are not included - or appear in fragmentary form - in the input data for the studies that commenced in 2018. Problems included the lack of identification and information on the functioning of the networks that pass through the work site, some of which provide services to the adjoining hospital departments requiring service continuity (e.g., the intensive care unit on the floor above which must remain open permanently) but also incomplete data on the building's framework (formwork - reinforcement), imprecision and inaccuracies in the diagrams and synoptic diagrams on existing operations.
The work involved the partial refurbishment of a high-rise building, meaning that the functional and technical project had to be designed to fit into the overall master plan of the high-rise building: common horizontal circulation with mechanical smoke extraction, centralised fire detection, compatibility of technologies, distinct emergency exits, etc. The constraints of the high-rise building can sometimes conflict with the logical operation of the services created.
